First of all, the raw materials of wigs can be basically classified into two categories: man-made fibers and human hair. The wigs that can be seen on the market are basically processed and produced with these two raw materials.

1. Man-made chemical fiber

Artificial chemical fiber is the chemical fiber filament collectively referred to in the wig industry. It refers to the chemical fiber material synthesized by the chemical “drawing” or “blowing” process. It is similar to the wig of human hair and is a supplement to human hair raw materials. The more famous ones are kanekalon and toyokalon in Japan. In the early days, the most inexpensive one was PP material (also called P material, that is, polypropylene chemical filament).

Synthetic filaments mainly include: normal temperature filaments, high temperature filaments, protein filaments, etc.; and can be subdivided into domestic hair filaments, daily hair filaments, Korean hair filaments, etc. Divided into ordinary filaments, matte filaments.

1) Normal temperature hair: Normal temperature hair is generally used as a filling material in human hair products, which can effectively reduce the cost of human hair products. But the disadvantages are also relatively obvious: easy to deform, difficult to take care of, not resistant to high temperature, and belong to flammable items. However, there are also wig products made of pure room temperature filaments on the market. Because of its low price, it was also popular in the early days, but the shortcomings of products made of room temperature filaments are also obvious: poor fidelity, not conducive to care and preservation; They are basically disposable products, so they have been gradually phased out in recent years.

2) High temperature hair wire: Compared with normal temperature wire, high temperature wire has a great improvement in high temperature resistance. In theory, it does not exceed 160 °C, and it will not deform the high temperature wire (in practical applications, according to the different production processes of high temperature wire, The theoretical high temperature resistance ranges from 100°C to 160°C). In the case of controlling the temperature, it can be drawn and ironed, easy to maintain and save, and the fidelity is also greatly improved compared with normal temperature filaments. Therefore, in recent years, many wig products on the market are made of high-temperature filaments raw materials (materials), of course, the price is more expensive than room temperature filaments.

3) Protein hair: With the development of the wig industry, customers have higher and higher requirements for products, and low-end products can no longer meet the needs of customers, so protein filaments is a higher-quality raw material. Compared with normal temperature filaments and high temperature filaments, protein filaments has achieved a further level of fidelity. It is a raw material with the feel and fidelity closest to human hair so far. It is often used in the production of high-end wigs. So the price will be higher than the first two.

In the continuous development process of synthetic chemical filament, an upgraded product that is different from ordinary filaments has been derived: flame retardant yarn. The difference between flame retardant yarn and ordinary chemical filament is that ordinary chemical filament is easy to burn, and becomes lumpy after ignition. , and the flame retardant wire is not easy to burn, it is the same as human hair after ignition, and it is in powder form, which reduces the risk of use, but it is not widely used because of its high cost.

2. Human hair

According to different regions, human hair can be mainly divided into: China hair, India hair, Brazil hair, Myanmar hair, Vietnam hair, Mongolia hair and so on. Because of its material, it can be permed and dyed, and it is easy to preserve, but the production of human hair is limited, and the price of human hair products is slightly more expensive.

The main difference between human hair in various regions lies in the quality and curvature of hair. Chinese hair, Mongolian hair, Myanmar hair, and Vietnamese hair are all Asian hair types, with thicker and straighter hair. Among them, Chinese hair is the best, and Chinese hair feels smooth Slippery, the most expensive.
